All-on-4® & Dental Implants

It’s time to smile with Next Smile Australia!

Our sole focus is providing All-on-4® Dental Implants, an advanced method of dental restoration that gives you an entirely new set of long-lasting teeth.

All-on-4®

The treatment is a revolutionary approach that offers a long-lasting solution to multiple missing teeth or as an alternative to dentures.

Unlike traditional dental restoration techniques like single-tooth implants, the All-on-4® procedure is a technique that uses four dental implants to support a fixed full-arch prosthesis (bridge) that replaces all of the teeth in the upper or lower jaw. This approach relies on strategically placing the implants in areas of the jawbone that provide the most support and stability.

The Next Smile Australia Dental Implants treatment follows the only clinically proven Malo Protocol, a two-bridge process. During the first stage, you’ll receive your first set of teeth, a ‘provisional bridge’ left in for three to six months while your mouth heals. During stage two, you receive your final teeth, crafted to your personal needs.

Experience and research* has shown that in comparison to using traditional full-arch rehabilitation dental implant methods, All-on-4® has many additional benefits, including:

  • It is considered a less invasive procedure as full-arch rehabilitation may be achieved using four implants.
  • The treatment process aims to provide your new provisional teeth within 24 hours of implant surgery, but usually on the same day.
  • It avoids the need for bone grafting and helps the jawbone maintain its density and structure.
  • The process has a 98% success rate*.
  • It is a long-lasting solution.
  • Your new implants look and feel like the closest thing to real teeth, so they’re just as easy to clean and maintain when following the Next Smile care and maintenance program.

What are dental implants?

Made from biocompatible titanium, a dental implant serves as a replacement for the root of one or more missing teeth and is surgically placed into the jawbone to support a dental prosthesis, such as a crown, bridge, or denture. The natural bone fuses to the implants, acting as the anchor for the new teeth, just as a natural root would. Dental implants can be inserted in the upper, lower or both jaws. Dental implants are suitable for a single tooth or multiple teeth rehabilitation.

Dental implants are designed to provide the same functionality and look as natural teeth. A single implant-supported tooth is a long lasting solution that usually takes three to six months to complete. Aside from the obvious cosmetic and functional reasons, having a dental implant may also help to stop other teeth from moving and prevent the wasting away of bone and further complications.

Single implants are common when there is a problem with one tooth. However, if someone has lost multiple teeth or has an irreversible problem with multiple teeth, this treatment may be the better option.

How is All-on-4® different from traditional dental implants?

Dental implants are traditionally used in dental restoration, specifically to support a single tooth or a short ‘bridge’ of teeth that are severely decayed or non-restorable.

The process of traditional implants involves inserting a small titanium fixture directly into the upper and lower jawbone.

Some of the key differences between traditional implants and All-on-4® that the Malo research* has shown include:

  • Reduced treatment time as patients may receive a new set of teeth in as little as one day.
  • Recovery time is shortened, and has a higher chance of reduced healing process.
  • The treatment uses four implants per arch rather than traditional implants, which use anywhere from six implants upwards.

Additionally, single dental implant treatment involves the placement of one implant at a time, with a healing period between each implant placement. Once the implants have integrated with the jawbone, individual crowns or bridges can be attached to replace missing teeth. This approach can be effective for treating individual missing teeth or smaller gaps in the smile, but it may not be the best option for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth in one or both arches.

As opposed to Next Smile Australia’s two-stage Malo Protocol, regular implants follow a five-stage process to receive implants as a form of dental restoration. The process is as follows:

  1. The damaged or decayed tooth is removed.
  2. Bone grafting is undertaken if needed.
  3. The dental implant is then surgically inserted into the jawbone.
  4. Over the next few months, the bone fuses with the implant and begins to heal.
  5. Once the area around the implant has healed, the artificial tooth (crown) is placed.

If you have multiple missing teeth and want to restore your smile, All-on-4® dental implants may be the solution for you.
